Three practices. Thirty years behind each one.

Performance coaching and leadership development. Community and school safety consulting. Expert witness and negotiation services for attorneys. Delivered to corporations, communities, and schools nationally and internationally.

PRACTICE 01

Performance is a way of thinking, and thinking can be taught.

Most organizations do not have a talent problem. They have a thinking problem. People default to the habits that got them here, then wonder why the results stop moving. Our performance work changes how people decide, lead, and execute when the pressure is real, and it is built to outlast the session that introduced it.

Performance Driven Thinking

The framework the firm is built on. A structured approach to how individuals and teams think, decide, and perform under pressure, delivered as training your people can apply the next morning.

Performance Driven Coaching

One-to-one and small-group coaching that turns the framework into daily practice. Built for executives, managers, and the emerging leaders you are counting on in three years.

Performance Driven Leadership

Leadership development for teams carrying real accountability. The decisions that matter rarely come with a script, and this is the work of preparing people to make them well.

PRACTICE 02

Before an incident, and after one.

Communities and school districts carry the same hard problem: the plan has to work on the worst day, and almost nobody gets to rehearse. We assess what is actually in place, name the gaps while there is still time to close them, and stay available when something does happen. A plan that sits in a binder has never protected anyone.

Community Safety & Planning

Violence prevention and safety planning for cities, agencies, and community organizations. Thirty years of this work, including Virginia’s statewide Gang Reduction and Intervention Program and two governors’ safety initiatives.

Community Assessment Violence Prevention Agency Training

School Safety Assessment

Districtwide and campus assessments covering physical security, policy, staff readiness, and the gaps between them. Delivered by consultants who have run districts, led departments, and testified about what went wrong elsewhere.

Post-Incident Response

When something has already happened, you need a clear account of what failed and what to change, written to stand up to a board, a community meeting, and whatever follows. We provide the review and the documentation to act on it.

PRACTICE 03

When safety becomes a legal matter.

Bobby Kipper has served as a national expert witness in community and school litigation since 2018, for both plaintiff and defense, across multiple states. The qualification behind it is not academic: 26 years with the Newport News Police Department, nearly twenty of them as a police crisis negotiator trained through the F.B.I. at Quantico.

Expert Witness

Case review, written expert opinion, deposition, and trial testimony in community, school, and workplace safety litigation. Multi-state, representing both plaintiff and defense.

Case Review Written Opinion Deposition Trial Testimony

Expert Negotiations

Nearly twenty years of crisis negotiation experience applied to commercial ground: contracts, disputes, and the conversations that decide whether a deal or a relationship survives.

HOW WE WORK

A clear process, from the first call to the final report.

01 / Consultation

We start with a direct conversation. What you’re facing, what you need, and whether The Kipper Group is the right fit for it. If we’re not, we’ll say so.

02 / Scoping

We match you to the right consultant and agree on scope, timeline, and what success looks like before any work begins.

03 / Delivery

The work happens on site and in person wherever it should. Assessments, coaching sessions, training, or case review, depending on the engagement.

04 / Follow-Through

Findings, recommendations, and the documentation to act on them. We stay available for board presentations, follow-up questions, and ongoing support.

Tell us what you’re facing.

We’ll tell you which of these is the right starting point, and who on the team should handle it.
